As an Infrastructure Engineer at Lucid Reality Labs, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability, security, and efficiency of our company's infrastructure. You will work closely with our team to maintain and optimize workstations, networks, XR devices, and various services. Your responsibilities will span a wide range of infrastructure-related tasks, including system administration, monitoring, automation, security, and data management.
Job requirements
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Proven experience in infrastructure engineering and system administration.
Strong knowledge of hardware, software, and network configurations.
Familiarity with services such as GSuite, Jira, Confluence, and BambooHR.
Proficiency in scripting and automation tools (e.g., Python, Ansible).
Understanding of cybersecurity best practices and data backup strategies.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Certifications in relevant IT disciplines (e.g., CompTIA, Cisco, AWS, Google Cloud) are a plus.
Responsibilities:
Proactive Ownership & Continuous Improvement:
Take full ownership and responsibility for assigned tasks, demonstrating a high level of motivation, patience, and dedication to quality work.
Maintain full engagement in day-to-day operations, with a proactive attitude toward identifying issues and implementing timely, effective solutions.
Actively propose and implement cost optimization strategies, including identifying unnecessary expenses, improving processes, and automating workflows where applicable.
Take initiative in organizing and maintaining proper workflows, equipment lifecycles, and infrastructure processes.
Configuration and Maintenance:
Set up and maintain workstations, networks, and XR devices to ensure smooth operations.
Manage and track hardware shipments: Oversee the logistics of shipping, receiving, and relocating equipment; maintain accurate inventory records; and verify the condition of hardware to ensure accountability and proper functionality.
Continuously optimize and upgrade hardware and software components as needed.
Service Administration:
Administer services such as GSuite, Jira, Confluence, BambooHR, and others to support company-wide productivity.
Coordinate team members’ onboarding and offboarding: Ensure a smooth and structured process for new hires and departing team members, including account setup, access management, documentation, and collaboration with relevant departments to support a seamless transition.
System Monitoring and Troubleshooting:
Monitor the health of the company's core systems and infrastructure components.
Proactively identify and resolve issues to minimize downtime and disruptions.
Automation Implementation:
Develop and implement automation solutions to streamline company processes.
Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement automation tools to enhance efficiency.
Security and Data Management:
Implement and maintain best security practices to protect company data and infrastructure.
Perform regular data backups and disaster recovery planning to ensure data integrity and availability.
