At the moment we are looking for a Tech Artist, who will use their knowledge of programming and art to integrate Lucid Reality Labs 3D Art and Animation visual content into our VR, XR and AR projects, with a primary focus on the Unity Engine:

Job requirements

Requirements:

  • High attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Experience with Unity’s Particle System and/or VFX Graph.

  • A strong portfolio or demo reel.

  • Solid understanding of art and animation pipelines.

  • Strong knowledge of Unity Engine and Rendering pipelines Unity provides. Experience in creating custom RPs is a big plus.

  • Setting up workflows of art production.

  • Familiarity with game systems and the game development process.

  • Scripting skills - C#.

  • Good proficiency with Unity’s NavMesh system.

  • Familiarity with the Unreal Engine a Bonus.

Technologies: Primarily Unity Game Engine, Unreal Engine Knowledge a bonus.

Responsibilities:

  • Liaising between heads of programming and design teams.

  • Researching and developing technical tools for a project.

  • Creating and editing shaders (HLSL, Shader Graph, Amplify).

  • Supporting artists and engineers in the 3D art pipeline.

  • Assisting in asset performance and validation.

  • Solving complex technical issues during development.

  • Deciding on what software and tools are required for production.

  • Developing and maintaining resources and pipelines along with programmers.

  • Porting finished art to the game engine.

  • Ensuring final art runs to full visual fidelity.

  • Working within the limits of the game engine, curating file sizes, polygon counts, and loading speeds.

  • Enforcing standards as outlined by heads of departments.

  • Developing tools to support the production pipeline.

  • Setting up character animations and controllers.

  • Optimizing environments and establishing physics barriers.

  • Creating real-time and baked lighting setups.

  • Researching and overseeing the implementation of rendering techniques.

  • Developing performance of frame rate and memory.

  • Building navigation data and colliders for complex scenes.

  • Monitoring the performance of the application.

  • Maintaining technical documentation.
